What is Biostimulant AN?

Biostimulant AN is a liquid, water-miscible solution derived from wild-growing brown algae (Ascophyllum nodosum) that is carefully and sustainably harvested.
Our extraction process makes many components of the brown algae plant-available and thus usable. In a sustainable and energy-efficient procedure, the valuable constituents are released so they can exert their (indirect) effects. Biostimulant AN triggers plant processes that act independently of nutrient content. It is entirely natural, without any chemical or synthetic additives.
Through a special process, trace elements, vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, and growth-regulating plant hormones are preserved, concentrated, and made plant-available. Production includes dehydration and milling of the brown algae, conversion into granules, and subsequent physical water extraction (Baltazar et al., 2021).
For a plant’s growth, health, and appearance, factors such as assimilation capacity, water retention, and nutrient supply are crucial. Biostimulant AN contains all the necessary active ingredients, important phytoelements, and plant-based trace elements — in an ideal, usable combination that only nature can produce.
Biostimulant AN contains growth regulators in natural proportions, such as auxin, gibberellin, and cytokinin, each with specific roles. Auxin and gibberellin promote cell enlargement and elongation, while cytokinin supports cell division and cell wall formation. Zinc activates the enzyme system, which in turn stimulates auxin production. Cytokinin is also known to delay leaf and flower aging. These substances are effective even at ppm and ppb concentrations.
For plant growth and cell development, manganese, iron, zinc, boron, copper, molybdenum, chlorine, as well as vanadium, aluminum, and selenium are required. All of these elements are present in chelated form in Biostimulant AN.
When sprayed on plants, Biostimulant AN adheres for an extended period through adsorption, forming a breathable protective film. This significantly reduces evaporation and ensures good water availability. Water loss is reduced by up to 15%. The film also helps regulate temperature — keeping leaves cooler under heat and slowing cooling during frost. Prolonged rain ends this effect.
At the same time, the nutrient balance is optimized. The plant shows natural leaf shine, vibrant colors, increased resistance to abiotic stress, and improved flower, leaf, and fruit quality. Shelf life after harvest is extended, and economic yield increases.
Biostimulant AN is highly effective even at low dilutions. It can significantly reduce the need for mineral fertilizers and pesticides. It is compatible with other fertilizers and plant protection products, reduces labor, is non-toxic, and free from harmful residues — safe for humans, animals, and the environment.
